Quick Start Guide

Searching UK corporate land ownership data is simple with our tool. Whether you're researching a company's property portfolio, conducting due diligence, or investigating land ownership patterns, you can find the information you need in just a few steps.

This guide will walk you through the entire process, from selecting your search type to exporting your results.

1

Choose Your Search Type

Our tool offers four powerful search methods, each optimized for different use cases:

Company Name Search

£1 / 1 credit

Search by company name with intelligent fuzzy matching. Perfect when you know the company name but not the exact registration details.

Example: "Acme Holdings Ltd" or even "Acme Holdings" will find matches

Company Number Search

£1 / 1 credit

Search using the Companies House registration number for exact matches. Most accurate method when you have the registration number.

Example: "12345678" or "SC123456" (Scottish companies)

Director Name Search

£3 / 3 credits

Search by an individual director's name to find properties owned by their associated companies. Uses Companies House API for comprehensive results.

Example: "John Smith" will find all companies and their properties

Address / Postcode Search

£1 / 1 credit

Reverse lookup to find who owns a specific property. Search by full or partial address, or by postcode.

Example: "10 Downing Street" or "SW1A 2AA"

2

Enter Your Search Query

Once you've selected your search type, enter your query in the search box. Here are some tips for best results:

Search Tips

  • Company Name: Don't worry about exact spelling - our fuzzy matching handles variations, typos, and abbreviations
  • Company Number: Enter the full registration number. Leading zeros are preserved automatically
  • Director Name: Use the full name for best results. Our system filters out corporate officers automatically
  • Address: Partial addresses work well. Try the street name, building number, or postcode

Tips & Best Practices

  • Start broad: If you're not finding results, try a shorter search term or use Company Name search which has fuzzy matching
  • Check suggestions: If no exact matches are found, we'll suggest similar company names from our database
  • Export early: Export your results even if you're not done analyzing - it's free and instant
  • Use credits wisely: Company Number searches are most accurate, so if you have the number, use that instead of searching by name
  • Director searches are thorough: They cost more (3 credits) because they query Companies House API and search multiple companies
